Week 5 (Activity) - I have broken this reflection post into two sections. The first section is about RI/E1, with the second being on SMART goals. Unfortunately, due to prioritising the event, I have put my CRJ writing on hold, and therefore weekly reflection is no longer written when the week concludes. It is paramount I stay on top of my studies, however, the rapid ideation events are significant to the upcoming assessment. I am concerned that I do not have enough time to deliver high-quality CRJ posts and meet the required deadlines of the event - this has created a backlog of CRJ posts. For this to work, I will publish CRJ posts with enough viable content and then update them when I have time.

RI/E1 (A Murder of Crows)

Currently, I am in a great position to deliver my artefact on time. However, goals have suffered due to prioritising development. For instance, I have abandoned Trello and pushed my design and art goals away in favour of programming. Fortunately, I have adhered to the 'slow boil' approach, but again, I have sacrificed other goals to achieve this. To save time, I downloaded assets from the Unity Asset Store and left the level design to the very last day of production. I plan to use these failings as experience and amend them for RI/E2.

SMART Goals

I have created two SMART goals, and I will do my best to adhere to them throughout the remaining time on the module. I have chosen these specific SMART goals because I believe they will benefit me as a developer and as an academic. I will continue to tag each CRJ post with reflective domains. Perhaps I will go back and alter my radial graph to include a mixture of reflective domains from each post, rather than choosing the most dominant, as this will present a more accurate finding.

My aim for next week is to finish and upload RI/E1. I am curious to find out what my peers think of my game. In addition, I will have more time to polish the project, as week six is a reading week (a week to catch up on course material).

This Critical Reflective Journal (CRJ) is intended to document my work as an 'MA Indie Game Development' student at Falmouth University.

This CRJ will be updated on a weekly basis.
